About Us

Sunday Gatherings

Our Sunday School Bible Classes meet at 9:30 a.m. This is a great opportunity to dig deeper into God’s Word and discuss its application to our lives. Classes are available for every age group.

Our Worship Service begins at 10:45 a.m. We gather to worship Jesus as a family, to express to Him our love, our thanks, and our devotion, and to hear His Word preached. After service, we serve lunch in our Fellowship Hall, where we spend time as a church family catching up with each other, meeting our visitors, and making new friends. Come be our guest as we worship the Lord together!

Core Purpose Statement

We exist to love, trust, and obey Jesus in ever-increasing ways  in the power of the Spirit to the glory of the Father and to lead others to do the same.

Core Values

  • First and foremost, we value Jesus. He is the head of the church, and we exist to love, trust, and obey Him in ever-increasing ways.
  • We value the Word of God. It is our sole authority and the basis for our preaching, teaching, and daily living.
  • We value the gospel. The gospel is the good news that, through faith in the Lord Jesus, sinners can be made right with God because of Jesus’ perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection.
  • We value heartfelt worship. Our church seeks to honor our triune God in all of our life, not just in songs.
  • We value prayer. Our community believes that we move forward on our knees. We desire to be a church that casts all of its cares on the Lord and looks to Him for all things.
  • We value expository preaching. Our sermons strive to be doctrinally sound, theologically rich, and intentionally practical.
  • We value relationships and community. It is our desire to show God’s grace and love to everyone. This is a place that nurtures compassionate care in relationships.
  • We value outreach. Our church believes the gospel is for all people, so we have a heart for world missions and a strong desire to make Jesus famous in Northern Nevada.
  • We value discipleship. Our goal is to develop our relationship with Jesus and to help others do the same.
  • We value service. Our members believe every Christian has been uniquely gifted by the Holy Spirit and has an important role to fulfill both in our church and in our community.
  • We value families. Our church has a strong desire to invest in children, youth, and families.

What We Believe

About the Trinity

We believe that God is one, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are distinct persons in one Godhead (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Matthew 3:13-17).

About the Father

We believe that God the Father, creator of heaven and earth, is holy, sovereign, infinite, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, perfect, just, merciful, loving, and personally involved in the world today (John 4:24; Luke 3:22; Acts 14:15).

About Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ, God the Son, is the Creator for whom and by whom all things were created (Hebrews 1:1-3). We believe He is our Lord and Savior sent from the Father, that He became man without ceasing to be God and was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Matthew 1:20-23).

We believe that He lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; 7:26), voluntarily laid down his life on the cross as our substitute, dying for our sins and thereby obtained our redemption (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). He resurrected on the third day and ascended into Heaven (John 20, 1 Corinthians 15). He is the only mediator between God and man and is right now interceding for us at the right hand of the Father (1 Timothy 2:5). He will return to earth again, both personally, bodily, and visibly (John 14:1-3).

About the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the supernatural and sovereign agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ (Romans 8:9; Titus 3:5-6). We believe in the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit that empowers each Christian to live a godly life (Romans 8:11).

The body of each believer is a “temple” in which the Holy Spirit is present (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Therefore, every believer must foster a life of being filled with the Spirit, which is both an initial and an ongoing experience for Christians (Ephesians 5:18). The Holy Spirit provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, guidance in doing what is right, and spiritual gifts to edify the church.

About the Bible

We believe that the 66 books of the Bible are the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God and that men were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the books of Scripture (2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

About Man

We believe that human beings were created in the image of God and were designed to have a relationship with Him (Genesis 1:26), but became separated from that relationship through sinful disobedience (Genesis 3). As a result, men and women are born totally depraved and are incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by their own efforts.

About Salvation

We believe that a person is justified by faith in the shed blood of Jesus and that he is born again by grace through faith apart from works. We believe that a repentant faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition of salvation (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6; 1:12, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1).

About the Christian Life

We believe that by obedience to the Scriptures and daily yielding to the indwelling Holy Spirit, we will mature and become conformed to the image of Christ, which should be exhibited by love for God and for one’s neighbor (Matthew 22:37-39).

About the Church

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus is the head (Colossians 1:18). The church exists to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20). God edifies and builds up His church. This is why the Holy Spirit gives a variety of spiritual gifts to believers such as encouragement, serving, teaching, healing, prophecy, etc. (Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12).

We practice the two ordinances instituted by Christ Himself: Water Baptism (Luke 3:21-22) and the Lord’s Supper (Luke 22:14-20).

About the Future

We believe that Christians who have died will be reunited with those still alive at the second coming of Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). This event will be followed by the millennial reign of Christ (Revelation 20:1-6), a final judgment (Revelation 20:11-15), and the appearance of a new heaven and a new earth (Revelation 21-22).

About Membership

We believe that when an individual puts their faith in Jesus for salvation, they come into the family of God (John 1:12). In the New Testament, when people come to faith they are immediately identified with the church. Acts 2:47 says the Lord added to the Church daily those who were being saved. This implies there was a way of counting members from non-members. To develop and mature as a Christian, we need each other.
