Elder

My name is Jerry Cole. I came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 19. My wife, Susan, and I have four children, eight grandchildren and one dog named Buddy. I have been a youth pastor, on staff with Young Life, and a church planter/pastor with the Conservative Baptist Association. I believe discipleship is a key component of the local church. I am currently a board member with Discipleship Training International. I love to teach God’s Word and simply want to tell people about Jesus. I love to share the treasures new and old of the Kingdom of Heaven that are in Christ. Each Summer, Susan and I enjoy taking our grandchildren on what I call “Grandpa Adventures”. I enjoy writing, hiking with my wife and playing golf.

Elder

I’m a 20–year Reno resident with over 30 years as a technology business leader. My walk with our Lord began about the age of 8 with the parable of the faith of a mustard seed. Although I wanted to have that kind of faith and did “my best” to walk the path, I struggled. It was years before I truly turned it all over to Him. In that moment, my life was transformed. I live, work, and play with Jesus at the center of it all and every day is a blessing. I believe in prayer, witnessing, and servant leadership. We have an amazing church body that is warm, welcoming, and endeavors to love, trust, and obey Jesus in ever increasing–ways. Please join us this Sunday. 

Elder

My parents moved to Reno in 1969.  At that time, I was 10 years old, and we started to attend Calvary Baptist Church. My parents were also instrumental in leading me to the Lord when I was 7 years old.  I met my wife, Andrea, in college and we now have been married for 42 years.  We have one daughter, and a son-in-law, and are now enjoying our first grandson.  In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and hunting in central Nevada.  I really enjoy the fellowship with friends and family on these annual trips.  In the past, I have been in leadership positions and have had the privilege to teach Sunday School, participate in AWANA and share the weekly message to the congregation.  I’m excited and look forward to serving the Lord here at Calvary Baptist Church.
